hi5.com
hi5.com is an old social discovery website that still works on the web, but its owner is now moving Hi5 users toward the closely linked Tagged platform.
What is hi5.com used for today?
hi5.com is mainly a place where adults can meet new people, browse profiles, make friends, chat, and look for dates.
The site feels closer to a social discovery and dating service than the classic social network that many people remember.
Users can create profiles with details such as their name, age, city, photos, and other personal information.
Hi5 also has discovery tools that help people find other members by location, age, and other profile details.
This makes the site useful for people who want to meet strangers rather than only talk with people they already know.
Is hi5.com still active?
Yes, the Hi5 website is still available, but the future of the brand is much less certain than its working homepage may suggest.
The biggest clue comes from the official Hi5 support announcement, which says the Hi5 Android app is being moved to the Tagged app.
The same announcement says the Hi5 web version will remain available "for now," which is important wording for anyone thinking about building a long-term presence there.
It also says existing Hi5 credentials can be used with Tagged and that linked in-app currency can move with the account.
This suggests Hi5 is becoming less of a separate product and more of a doorway into the larger Tagged system.
Who owns Hi5 now?
Hi5 is operated under The Meet Group, a company that has owned several services made for meeting new people.
The company acquired the business behind Hi5 and Tagged in 2017 after years of changes in ownership.
The Meet Group history shows how its network grew around social discovery, dating, mobile apps, and live video.
Hi5 itself is much older because it first became popular during the early social networking years before Facebook became the main global platform.
That history explains why some parts of Hi5 can feel like an older social network while newer parts focus heavily on dating and meeting strangers.
Is joining hi5.com free?
Creating a basic account is free according to the current Hi5 terms of service.
The service can also offer paid Premium membership and virtual goods that add extra features inside the platform.
Some virtual items use an internal balance rather than normal money after the purchase is complete.
Hi5 has also used the Pets game, where members can use virtual value to buy, sell, and trade profile-based virtual pets.
People should read the payment details before buying anything because subscriptions may renew automatically depending on the service and payment method.
Is hi5.com safe to use?
Hi5 is a real service, but meeting strangers online always requires care because another person's profile may not tell the full story.
Users should avoid sending money, private documents, passwords, home addresses, or sensitive photos to people they have just met.
The official content and conduct rules ban spam, abuse, harmful software, unauthorized advertising, and sharing another person's private information without permission.
Hi5 also offers account verification tools designed to reduce fake accounts and identity abuse.
Its verification notice says verification may use selfie video frames or government photo IDs for checks such as age, identity, and human liveness.
Anyone using that feature should read the notice first because biometric checks involve more sensitive information than a normal email sign-up.
Why does Hi5 sometimes look like Tagged?
The connection is not an accident because Hi5 and Tagged now share much of the same company system, account technology, support structure, and social discovery model.
Current Hi5 support pages can even send visitors into Tagged help pages for account, safety, payment, and feature questions.
This is the clearest sign that the two services are being brought closer together behind the scenes.
For an existing Hi5 member, this may make account migration easier if more Hi5 features move to Tagged later.
For a new member, it means choosing Hi5 today also means becoming familiar with the Tagged ecosystem.
Is hi5.com worth using now?
hi5.com can still be useful if you want a simple place to meet new people and you do not mind using a platform that is changing direction.
It is less attractive if you want a modern social network with a clear long-term future under one stable brand.
The most important fact is not that Hi5 disappeared, because the website still exists, but that its Android app is being retired while Tagged is becoming the main destination for its community.
That makes Hi5 best understood today as a working legacy social network that is slowly becoming part of a larger Tagged experience.
